About
Japan Startup Resources is a small, independent directory and weekly newsletter for people building companies in Japan. It exists because the support is real but the map is missing — the visas, counters, funds, and communities are spread across ministry pages, ward offices, and Japanese-language sites that don’t surface in an English search.
I run it alone, from Tokyo. Every entry is an organisation I would point a friend to, written up in one honest line. There are no rankings, no sponsored placements, and no affiliate links. If an entry stops being useful, it comes out.
The newsletter goes out every Friday: the week’s new additions plus one short piece of analysis — a policy change, a program worth the paperwork, a part of the ecosystem worth understanding. It’s free and it stays that way.
Something missing? Submit a resource. Every submission is read by a person before it goes in.
