# Japan Startup Resources API

Connect an OAuth-capable MCP client to **https://japanstartupresources.com/mcp**.
Only active, email-confirmed newsletter subscribers can authorize access.

## Tools

- **Events this week** (`events_this_week`): curated events taking place this
  Monday–Sunday in Asia/Tokyo, including multi-day events overlapping the week.
- **News this week** (`news_this_week`): curated news published this week through
  today in Asia/Tokyo, ordered newest first.

Both tools accept `{}`. Responses include `timezone`, `weekStart`, `weekEnd`,
`asOf`, `coverage`, `total`, `items`, and `message`. Each item has an ID, title,
date, source URL and editorial summary; events can include an end date and
location. No entries means no curated coverage, not that nothing happened.

## MCP transport

Use Streamable HTTP POST with `Content-Type: application/json`,
`Accept: application/json, text/event-stream`, and `Authorization: Bearer TOKEN`.
Initialize using protocol version `2025-06-18` or `2025-03-26`; send the
initialized notification, then use `tools/list` and `tools/call`.
The server is stateless and does not open a GET event stream.

Unauthorized calls return HTTP 401 with a resource-metadata challenge. Unknown
tools or unsupported arguments return JSON-RPC error -32602. Responses are not
cached. Never put access tokens in URLs. Revoke access via `/account` or OAuth
`/oauth/revoke`.
